Before leaving for Korea I cleaned up my room at my parents place. Actually took apart my old bed and stored all my stuff in boxes. This to remind me of getting my own place when coming back from Korea. Luckily that's still 6 months from now, so for now.. no worries. =P
I slept the night in my little brothers bed, he slept in my dads room. Not able to sleep I remembered Korean frazes I could use when going to Korea.
We left 11:30am. My dad already left with my little brother to get tickets at the station for for the airport. At the point of getting my bag and walking out the door I run to my old room which was empty. No bed, no posters on the wall, no computer, empty desk, no sofa full of unwashed clothes. It actually looked like it was thoroughly cleaned! =P hehe,. well. it was a good goodbye.
With me I had one big bag with clothes and one backpack with books/laptop, cables, camera, etc. Since my bag was already 22 kg I had to put all my books in my backpack. With my laptop and other stuff too my backpack was a little less than 11kg and made me look like a camel!! Since it was so big and heavy I was a bit afraid that they wouldn't let me board with it. So when checking in I jumped like a monkey just to make the impression it wasn't heavy at all! something I would regret the next day.
After Checking in I had my last coffee with my parents and little brother and then gave them all a big hug before going through customs.
After transferring at Frankfurt I was on my way to Seoul Incheon Airport. The flight was roughly 11h long and in one of those big Boeing aircrafts. Since it was a flight to Korea I thought it would be packed with Koreans!! I thought maybe a (nice looking) korean (lady) would fill the place next to me but no, the chair stayed empty.. =( The plane was in fact under booked. There were more empty chairs than filled ones... Well,. at least I had all the space for myself. =)
Since I only ate half a sandwich at home I was starving. So when they served our meals I secretly cried of happiness. Of course I choose the beef over the chicken!! (My dad is a veg so we don't really eat that at my parents.. Men should eat beef!!!!) The food was oke,. It seemed like the kimchi was made with sparkling water but I was sooo hungry I didn't care anymore!
During the night I watched The Three Musketeers (which sucks b4||$) and Puss in Boots which was fun. The rest of the films were sh*t so instead I read out of Steve Jobs Biography. (If you think about it the real Apple computers were actually not Job's doing but Woz's)
Anywayzzz.. The flight was awesome (except for the not being able to sleep part), no turbulence at all!! Even the landing went smooth as butter!
Well,. So far for my first blog. Next time I'll try to keep it shorter. Also there will be fewer and shorter blogs in the future. So don't worry I'll overload you with uninteresting info. ;)
Until next time, Raaf
